Tomorrow begins the 17th Annual Anti-Freeze Blues Festival in Ferndale. This event is Detroit’s largest gathering of blues artists & blues lovers! It is a great event and this year for the first time, we have a Detroit theme on the first night! It is so important that we show some support to our local folks like Boogie-Woogie virtuoso, Mr. B and his trio with Kurt Krahnke & Skeeto Valdez, Harmonica wizard Little Sonny, Ann Arbor legend Bill Kirchen (of Commander Cody fame) and Detroit’s Queen of the Blues, Alberta Adams.

More than 25 national and local blues artists, including four of the UK’s top blues bands, will play at venues across Newark, between Friday 10 and Sunday 12 September.

Four of the UK’s top blues bands complete the line up for the second annual Newark Blues Festival.

Leading UK blues artists Aynsley Lister, Sean Webster, Tipping Point and Virgil and the Accelerators will perform at the festival’s showcase event, Blues at the Castle, in the atmospheric and majestic setting of Newark Castle on Saturday 11 September.

More than 25 national and local blues artists, featuring four of the UK’s leading blues bands, will play at venues across Newark, between Friday 10 and Sunday 12 September.

The 2010 Garvin Gate Blues Festival will feature a special tribute to Councilman George Unseld, a long time supporter of the festival who passed away in June

The free festival is planned for Friday, October 8, from 6:30-11 pm, and Saturday, October 9, 3-11 pm, at the Gate on Garvin Place and Oak Street in Old Louisville.
The event is presented by the Garvin Gate Neighborhood Association, with sponsorship by Louisville Metro Government District 6 Councilman Deonte Hollowell and the Franklin Law Group.

Americana MusicFest is seeking vendors and volunteers for its inaugural event, Oct. 3 at Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills. The festival will feature live traditional American music including folk, bluegrass, Cajun, country, gospel, blues and jazz.

AGOURA HILLS, CALIF.–Americana MusicFest is seeking vendors and volunteers for its inaugural event, Sunday, October 3 at Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills. The festival, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks, will feature live traditional American music including folk, bluegrass, Cajun, country, gospel, blues and jazz.

=”In keeping with the festival theme, we are looking for arts and craft vendors who produce American-made goods,” says Brad Lewis, Kiwanis vendor coordinator. Booth sizes are 10’ x 10’ ($95) and 10’ x 20’ ($175). An additional $50 National Park Service fee will be applied. (more…)
