Jim Parkinson, the renowned designer of the iconic Rolling Stone logo will create the Rolling Stone LA logo, owners Niall Donnelly and Joe Altounian announced today. The logo for Rolling Stone LA, the first-ever U.S. Rolling Stone magazine venue, will be inspired by the magazine’s famous logo and reflect the timelessness for which Rolling Stone is known.

Primary Wave And EMI Music Sign North American Distribution And JV Agreement March 18, 2010

Primary Wave, the music publishing, marketing and artist management firm, has entered into an agreement with EMI Music’s Label Services unit for North American distribution for Primary Wave‘s label. The two companies will also release select artists via a joint venture.

The first Primary Wave release EMI Label Services will distribute will be the eponymous debut album from Stillwater Oklahoma rock band Taddy Porter, slated for June 2010. The band: Andy Brewer, Joe Selby, Kevin Jones and Doug Jones, were discovered by industry veterans Rick Smith & Scott Frazier, who now manage Taddy Porter on behalf of Primary Wave’s management arm. Led by the surging single “Shake Me,” and produced by Skidd Mills (ZZ Top, Saving Abel), the album promises a collection of timeless, undeniable rock songs. Taddy Porter will aggressively tour the US in support of the release, with planned dates including the 2010 Rock OnThe Range (5/22) & Rocklahoma (5/28-30) Festivals.

At SXSW 2010, Brightcove Inc. announced that EMI Music, one of the world’s largest music companies, will use Brightcove as its online video publishing and syndication platform in North America. EMI Music, which is home to chart-topping recording artists and legendary catalog artists, will use Brightcove’s comprehensive online video platform to publish, distribute and monetize video content across its website properties and to some of EMI Music’s third party syndication partners.
