Live Nation And Ticketmaster Entertainment Complete Merger But With Stipulations February 1, 2010

Live Nation, Inc. and Ticketmaster Entertainment, Inc. announced they have completed their merger following the receipt of regulatory clearances and approvals from all government authorities required by the merger agreement and the approval of Live Nation and Ticketmaster stockholders. Subject to final confirmation, under the terms of the transaction Ticketmaster stockholders will receive approximately 1.474 shares of Live Nation common stock for each share of Ticketmaster common stock they own. The merged entity will bear the name Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: LYV).

Led By Facebook, Twitter, Global Time Spent On Social Media Sites Up 82% Year Over Year February 1, 2010

According to The Nielsen Company, global consumers spent more than five and half hours on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter in December 2009, an 82% increase from the same time last year when users were spending just over three hours on social networking sites. In addition, the overall traffic to social networking sites has grown over the last three years.

Hello Music Raises $4 Million From KVG February 1, 2010

Hello Music, a new music company that combines technology resources with the art of A&R to identify talented musicians and connect them with career opportunities, announced today that it has received $4 million in private equity financing from KVG Partners. Hello Music was conceived and incubated by Wilshire Media Group, a digital music product design and development firm founded by Zack Zalon and Brendon Cassidy. Hello Music will launch with the participation of KVG. Dick Kiphart, the lead investor in KVG, principle at William Blair and Company, and president and CEO of The Lyric Opera of Chicago, has joined the company as chairman of the board. Initial Hello Music opportunities will come from partners AudioMicro, Getty Images, GigMaven, LyricFind, MediaNet, Next Big Sound, Slacker, Topspin, TuneCore and Yahoo! Music.
