As important as it is to have a website, another must for a musician is to start a blog and connect with a fan base this way.
While space and time this morning preclude me from going into detail how to start a blog (there are literally tons of books written on this subject), once you have it is now possible to have your blog published on Amazon’s Kindle.
First introduced in 2007, the “Kindle” is Amazon’s electronic replacement for books. It’s a portable, wireless device that allows you to download books, magazines, newspapers, even blogs instantly and take them with you anywhere.
If you publish a blog you can now publish your blogs in the Kindle Store where users can subscribe to them for a monthly fee. Yes, for a monthly fee! This is a great way to make some money and increase your fan base all at the same time.
Although Amazon decides how much is charged for a subscription to your blog, you will receive 30%. This may not seem like a lot, but this will add up and may provide you with a lucrative income stream within time. It will increase your fan base as people subscribe to your blog and follow you online.
